Our Story
Detroit City Distillery was born in 2012 when a group of locals decided the Motor City needed its own spirit — something honest, crafted with intention, and proud of its roots. We set up shop in a restored warehouse and fired up our first copper still.
Today, every bottle we produce is distilled, aged, and bottled right here in Detroit. We source Michigan grains, local botanicals, and pure Great Lakes water. No shortcuts. No compromises. Just patience, precision, and a stubborn commitment to doing it the hard way — because the hard way is the only way worth doing.
Our Spirits
From our flagship vodka to barrel-aged whiskey and botanical gin — each spirit is small-batch, handcrafted, and proudly made in Detroit.
Premium Vodka
Five times distilled through Michigan corn and charcoal-filtered for a finish that's impossibly smooth — clean enough to drink straight, bold enough for any cocktail.
Barrel-Aged Whiskey
Aged 3 years in charred oak. Notes of toasted vanilla, dark caramel, and a whisper of smoke — the taste of Detroit's resilience in every sip.
London Dry Gin
Infused with nine hand-selected botanicals including juniper, coriander, and citrus peel from local orchards. Crisp, aromatic, and unmistakably sharp.
Dark Rum
Aged in ex-bourbon barrels for 18 months. Rich molasses, dried fig, and a warm spice finish. Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks.
French-Style Cognac
Double-distilled in copper pot stills, aged 5 years. Layers of dried apricot, leather, and oak — a spirit that demands to be sipped slowly.
Herbal Liqueur
A secret-family-recipe-inspired blend of 16 herbs and roots, macerated and cold-compounded. Bittersweet, complex, and perfect as a digestif.
